Practice it in private. Then do it for real.

Social Anxiety Helper is a practice app for everyday conversations. Rehearse the exact moment out loud, as many times as it takes. Then take one small real step up a graded ladder of challenges built from actual life.

The small stuff that isn't small.

Moments this was built for:

The appointment is still not booked, because booking it means calling.

There is a voicemail about setting up an interview. Calling back has my heart pounding.

In person I am mostly fine. A phone call puts my stomach in knots.

Camera on, and every word I planned is gone.

A first date, for the first time in a long time. I have rehearsed the hello all week.

My partner orders for both of us. Neither of us mentions why.

If any of those sound like Tuesday, this was built for that.

Radically, no. Slowly, yes.

Reading about conversation is like reading about flying. It is possible to know the whole manual and still never have left the ground. At some point the reps have to happen, and first reps shouldn't happen where they cost the most.

1

Pick the moment

A phone call. Ordering. Speaking up once in a meeting. Pick from a library of real situations, or describe the exact thing happening Thursday.

2

Rehearse it out loud

Have the actual conversation, in your own voice, with a practice partner that talks back off script. Stumble, restart, run it again until it's boring. Nobody hears it. Getting it wrong is the point.

3

Do the real thing, one rung up

The ladder turns the same situation into small real-world steps, easiest first. Do one. Log it. The next rung is always close.

The ladder, not the leap.

Most advice jumps from “a bit uncomfortable” straight to “just put yourself out there.” The gap in the middle is where everyone falls off. The ladder fills the gap: real-world challenges graded from things that take ten seconds to things that used to feel impossible, so the next step is always one you can actually take.

1

Eye contact with a cashier

2

A clear "thank you"

3

Ask a quick question at the counter

4

A two-minute phone call

5

Speak up once in a meeting

6

A job interview. Walking into a party alone.

The full ladder is on the free plan. No card required.

Out loud is a different thing.

Conversation Helper

Typing at a chatbot is not practice for talking. The Conversation Helper speaks, listens, and answers off script, because real people do. Your voice gets the reps, not your thumbs.

Situation Helper

Something on the calendar? Describe it, get a plain-language plan for that exact moment, then rehearse it as many times as you want before Thursday.

Alongside, never instead.

This is practice, not therapy, and it doesn't pretend to be. If you work with a professional, use it for reps between sessions. If you're on a waitlist, it's something to do while you wait. It will never tell you to skip professional help, and it never replaces it.

Also in the app

Breathing Helper

Short breathing exercises for the minutes before, or after.

Crisis Helper

A private voice call for hard moments, up to 15 minutes, any hour. It's support, not an emergency service. In an emergency, call 911, call or text 988, or text HOME to 741741.

About Crisis Helper →

Built by someone who gets it.

I thought I was going to be broken for the rest of my life. That's how it felt from the time I was a kid: phone calls, ordering, speaking up, all of it impossible, like everyone else got a manual I didn't. The books and videos never moved it. Reps did. Small ones, in private first, then for real. Nobody had built the place to do that, so I built it. I still use it.

Fair questions

Couldn't I just do this with ChatGPT?+

You can, and some people do. What you'd be building yourself is the structure: a library of real situations so nobody has to design scenarios on the spot, spoken practice that talks back, a graded ladder so rehearsal turns into real-world reps, and a record of both. The structure is the product.

Will practicing alone actually transfer to real life?+

Practice that never leaves the app deserves that skepticism. That's why the ladder exists: every rehearsal points at a small real-world challenge, and the app counts the real ones, not the rehearsals.

Is this therapy?+

No. It is practice and support. It works alongside professional care and will never position itself as a replacement for it.

Who sees my practice?+

Nobody. Rehearsals are not shared, scored by other people, or posted anywhere. Details are in the privacy policy.

How is this different from social-skills courses?+

Courses teach. This one mostly makes you do, out loud, then for real. Lessons about conversation are not conversation.

Said out loud first. Then done for real.

Nothing here promises a new you. It promises reps: said out loud in private first, then done for real, one rung at a time.
